TRINITY'S MISSION STATEMENT
Trinity Transitional House’s mission is to coordinate homeless prevention and intervention services for women and single mothers whose livelihood is threatened by loss of housing. The organization’s programs support community resilience by coordinating local and state resources to increase individual protective factors for women and children; in response to traumatic experiences causing them to be displaced. Since incorporating, Trinity Transitional House has served as a platform to mobilize communities by implementing homeless prevention interventions for vulnerable families through the following comprehensive services
We provide resources and safe housing opportunities for displaced mothers and children in Delaware County, PA., through a safe and loving environment.
Trinity with this initiative, our goal is to promote great opportunities for mothers in need. With access to the right resources, people can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential.
In this new space Trinity will offer emergency safe temporary housing and reconnect residents and other mothers in need to ongoing individual counseling, coaching and transitional support.
MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES & SOCIAL EMOTIONAL COMPETENCIES
Trinity Transitional House incorporates evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Processing Therapy as a constructive way to help participants cope, self-regulate and resolve interpersonal conflict.
Cognitive Processing Therapy is shown to effectively treat a variety of traumatic experiences. Cognitive Processing Therapy is a cognitive therapeutic program that is intended to assist female victims of abuse with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
PARENT EDUCATION, PARENT/PEER SUPPORT, & LIFE SKILLS COACHING SERVICE
Parent/Peer mentoring support; is identified as a “positive reinforcement initiative” to give parents the tools to support sustainable changes for themselves and their children. Trinity’s parenting classes cover a broad range of topics, including what parenting skills are, child development, temperament, intellectual development, communication, discipline, instilling self-esteem, teaching children's values, meeting their needs, and more.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PREVENTION
Domestic Violence Prevention Program
is designed to work with participants to decrease interpersonal violence through a process of change in thinking and behaviors by establishing strategies to promote healthy, respectful, and non-violent relationships are an important part of prevention.
